Pretty sunrise, 7 deer grazing in the back yard. This goofy-looking yearling with only one antler was up on his hind legs whacking my birdfeeder with it to get the seeds to fall. Coffee and cigar, then I'm off on the Realtor Tour for a few hours.

Lapine isn't Central Oregon. Don't be trying to put Lapine in with the likes of Bend.

    Thanks.

I think Maris enjoys the Blazers very much. It's just his communistic, the left is never wrong and the right is never right view of politics that rubs people the wrong way. I enjoy his posts.

Yes it is. I love camping at LaPine State Park. It's 100% central Oregon.

When I think back to living in Portland, that's pretty much the first image I think of. Only wetter.

Mark Knopfler in "Telegraph Road" had a great lyric that seemed custom-made for the Portland commute: "These rivers of headlights, and these rivers of rain."

I know Portland's got nothin' on LA, but it's the biggest city I've ever lived in, and I can't imagine going back.

The 405, the only interstate I've ever seen with graffiti on the center barriers. Driving from Riverside to L.A. was a fucking nightmare.

I've had the, um, honor to drive LA freeways a few times and I felt my life was constantly in danger. The difference between Portland and LA freeways is so huge, one has to experience it to believe it. BTW, Atlanta freeways are very close to LA freeways as well.

YOU DON'T GET ON THE 405 TO GO FROM RIVERSIDE TO LA.
