Isn't it cock fighting season for you people?

Just kidding HCP. I remember going to my first cock fight in Venezuela when I was kid. Crazy sport but it was exciting to see. My uncle has raised fighting birds down there for years. Doesn't enter them in fights himself but instead trains and sells them to the ones who do.

Shit, I'm probably going to get email bombed with hate and threats from all you PETA pussies now.

Agreed. I'm checking every main basketball website way too much with little reward. Preseason football is extremely stupid as well. Can't wait till we trade rudy, and when training camp starts!!!

Sports-wise, I think this is almost the worst time of the year. The worst was the past couple of weeks before this one..at least now we have training camp and NFL preseason to watch!

Playoff races are just heating up in baseball. The Cards/Reds, Giants/Pads and White Sox/Twins series were fun to watch this week.

Anybody getting somewhat excited to see France and the US play in about fifteen minutes? I thought I would be, but I I'm not there yet.

Ya, spectator sports wise I hate it between the end of the Blazers season and the start of the Cowboys season. At least the Cowboys preseason is here finally!!

It would be OK if the A's had not been stuck in mediocrity (and crappy ownership) for 4 years.

Hey, try being a fan of the Cleveland Indians! 4 years is nothing.

I just meant 4 years since a playoff team. But yes, even the long ago Earthquake Series of 1989 is far closer in history than Cleveland's last win.

i don't understand how anyone can get excited over preseason football. the starters play for a series and by the second half it's guys off the practice squad in there. plus they charge you like it's a regular season game for the ticket. biggest waste of time in sports.

Pretty soon your going to have to travel south to San Jose to see those lousy A's. What happened to those great A's teams of the early 2000's when they had consistent great pitching coming up through the farm system. I loved watching those teams with Zito, Hudson, Mulder, Harden, Blanton etc... Oh thats right, they traded them away for peanuts and cracker jacks.

Ya, but it means the regular season is right around the corner.

But I'm all for when they drop two preseason games and add two regular season games in their place. If you have to pay full price at least give me a real game.

The A's actually have good pitching but can't hit a lick - 7 hits in the last 4 games!

I am not going to see the San Jose A's or the Fremont A's. In fact they tried to get me to extend my season tix, which I've had in good years and bad since 1991. I gave all the reasons (mediocre team, bad treatment of fans) and the man said he'd offer me some deals to try to keep me. I said put it in writing. The day before his letter arrived the owner was quoted in the local paper as saying the team is definitely leaving Oakland. So my reply was to clip the article and mail it back.

They want to be the East Bay version of the Giants, with upscale fans who sip wine and eat sushi at ballparks and go shopping in an attached mall before games. By income and occupation "maybe" I fit but my heart is scruffy grungy blue collar profane Oaktown. That's what the A's and also Raiders USED to be.

Sorry for the rant, someone hit a nerve!
