Monta Ellis was the subject of trade speculation before the offseason began, but it appears as though he will remain with the Warriors for at least the beginning of the 10-11 season.

"I think that was a rumor," said Ellis. "The deal was with the (Golden State) players who got traded. I don't think it ever was with me.

"I'm happy where I am ... It's like when I talked to (Stephen Curry) this summer. The only thing we can do now is play basketball. I thought we did a great job last season, but we didn't get the wins. They (Warriors management) got us a lot of new pieces (including All-Star forward David Lee from the New York Knicks). Hopefully, we can stick them together and plug up the holes (that) we've been missing.

Good to see Monta and Curry talking in the offseason. I got a good feeling about Monta for this season if he isn't playing with some agenda or jealousy.

Yeah, that is nice, I've always assumed they can't co-exist, mostly skill-set wise, but if they become friends / amigos on the court, that would be great. Can Monta let Curry be the main man, though?

Seemed like he accepted playing off the ball toward the end of last season. Reports were that Monta didn't like the Curry pick because he and Jack were told they would be getting an impact big man not a rookie PG. Maybe once Curry proved himself Monta was more accepting of him. Apparently they've spoken in the offseason and Monta does seem happy now- presumably because we added Lee. Unless hes completely oblivious you have to think Monta knows the plan for the upcoming season is Steph at PG and Monta at SG and he seems happier than hes been in years knowing this. Perhaps hes even happy because he thinks/hears Nellie could be gone as well? Not sure how their relationship is these days.

Deja vu all over again, but didn't we have this story last year, too? I'm okay with both Monta and AB on the team and would welcome it as long as the team gets better. We've got an all-star in David Lee now (Knicks may have made a BIG mistake!), so we need to find the go to guy. It could be Lee. It could be Curry. It could Monta.

    I'm encouraged but not convinced.

I bet he's happier that Cohan is gone, along with (hopefully) Rowell. Did Nelson and Ellis have some problems last season?
