Lions linebacker Jordan Dizon's star-crossed career took another turn for the worse following a serious knee injury against the Steelers in the team's preseason opener.

Tom Kowalski of MLive.com reports that the team's backup middle linebacker told several people after the game he will miss the season. Lions coach Jim Schwartz wouldn't confirm that, only saying it was "serious."

Dizon started on Saturday night in place of injured middle linebacker DeAndre Levy and was a backup on the team's nickel defense. Matt Millen selected Dizon No. 45 in Millen's final draft, and the lightweight linebacker has struggled to see the field because of a lack of physicality.

That sucks. Injuries in preseason suck.

It sucks, but maybe after cuts we can get a better backup :)
