My brother and dad have told me about this. My dad heard somewhere they were thinking about doing this in the future. If the ball is bouncing on the rim after a shot attempt, it wouldn't be goaltending anymore if a defensive player knocked it away or grabbed it. Anybody hear something similar to that? If what I heard really happens then the NBA will lose even more fans and Stern will be hated a lot more than right now. Please tell me I heard wrong and it's actually something else.
I havent heard anything about that but that would be a horrible rule, this is the worst idea since hiing Isiah Thomas a s a GM
I have not heard anything about a rule like this, and honestly it wouldn't make much sense for the league to implement it anyway. Why would they implement a rule that will lower scoring and "improve" defense after they just spent the last two years trying to bolster the league's scoring numbers by being more strict with perimeter contact, etc.?
That would be a pretty stupid rule. You should always have to wait for the ball to come down before you go get it.
i really doubt this is or will be a rule. They were probably talking about the summer games, bc those are the rules in Europe.
that would be a horrible rule. it's cheap because if it's still above the cylinder it's still got a chance to go in. i don't see the nba ever enforcing a rule like that.
I think that's a rule in Europe? Really wouldn't bother me, since refs tend to miss that call alot, going both ways
You cant interfere with a shot when it is on the rim, you have to wait for it to go down, or else everyone would just grab it when it want off the rim or something.
So is the rule basically no goaltending? If so I think that's dumb to implement. Their would be so many shots that would get knocked out and would probably decrease scoring, something the NBA is not trying to do nowadays.
That would change strategies, and it would be wayyy too easy to guard. This is not going to happen...
David Stern is the dumbest bi*ch ever. No more boxer thingys. now this bullsh**?? he would be one of the worst commisioners if he lets this go down
