Leandro Barbosa admitted recently that he requested a trade from the Suns following the 2009-10 season.

Phoenix sent the guard to Toronto in a deal that landed them forward Hedo Turkoglu.

"I asked for a trade after the season. I told Phoenix I wanted to play in a better situation for me, which I think I have in Toronto," Barbosa told DIME.

"I didn't get that chance to play a lot in Phoenix, so I wanted to go to a different team. The first team that came was Toronto, and I have a good relationship with Bryan Colangelo, so everything worked out."

I was surprised to hear this several weeks ago. He seemed to love Phoenix.

He is still coming off the bench in Toronto. DeMar and Sonny are gonna be the SG/SF starting tandem hopefully.

Barbosa was never really given much of a chance at PG. He should ge a lot of quality minutes at backup (as well as SG).
