Although I agree he needs to expand on his variety of shots.....his fadeaway is pretty impressive. Not many players shoot it better. And like a sky hook, it is pretty much unblockable.
True but I don't think you need to add 20 lbs in order to get the shot off and until the season begins and he actually does something in the post other then the fadaway I will be skeptical.
I agree. I like that he is working on his body and his game. I expect our players to work on both every summer. I could care less about the 20 lbs. It's just a number. By working hard on their game, the probablity of them improving increases.
Is that a potency joke? He DID have a lot of kids. Edit: Sorry, I Freudianly read "Spetum" instead of "Septum".
http://mikebarrettsblog.blogspot.com/2010/08/aldridge-ready-to-roll.html "I can't say enough about how good LaMarcus looks," says Bayno. "He hired a personal trainer in Dallas, a guy who works with a bunch of the Dallas Cowboys. He did that totally on his own. He's up to about 260, maybe 262 (Aldridge was listed at 240 before last season). He's stronger and bigger, and hasn't lost any of his quickness." I'm ready for LMA's breakout year. Since Oden isn't looking to be full force
Yeah, I'm a little dubious. Still, though, it's not like Aldridge is known as a slacker or something. He shows up for preseason in shape among the quickest players on the roster. He clearly does a lot to stay in shape in the summer anyway, so it's not that hard to imagine him taking a different tack this summer and going more toward strength. This isn't like Shawn Kemp. That guy was rumored to have gone away from years of tradition of showing up out of shape, and was finally going to be ripped and ready. What a joke that was.
For as much as a healthy Oden would impact this team i feel that a motivated and "next level" LMA would be almost as impactful. It would create so many options.
Blazer fans go into a tizzy over words and potential. I'll wait for the action and accomplishments. His 240-pound weight wasn't the cause of his soft play. It's his 240-gram courage.
Every summer, it seems, players make drastic changes to their games (improving them). I'll believe it when LaMarcus ups his averages, and doesn't cower in the paint.
What's the right weight for a good amount of courage? One's body weight? That doesn't really make sense...if all your body weight were courage, what about the bones and muscles and organs, etc? I see what you were going for, but since there's no clear standard to compare "240-gram courage" to, it's not that effective as derision. In my opinion, anyway.
Courage! What makes a king out of a slave? Courage! What makes the flag on the mast to wave? Courage! What makes the elephant charge his tusk in the misty mist, or the dusky dusk? What makes the muskrat guard his musk? Courage! What makes the sphinx the seventh wonder? Courage! What makes the dawn come up like thunder? Courage! What makes the Hottentot so hot? What puts the "ape" in apricot? What have they got that I ain't got? --- You, my friend, are a victim of disorganized thinking. You are under the unfortunate impression that just because you run away you have no courage; you're confusing courage with wisdom.
How about this as a stick of measure? Not getting owned by 6'5" Corey Magette in the paint. That in itself would be a step forward IMO..........
