Drafted this team yesterday, had the 8th pick in a 10 team Yahoo! league. QB - Brady, Palmer WR - Andre Johnson, Hakeem Nicks, Mike Wallace, Houshmanazadeh, Braylon Edwards, Dexter McCluster (also has HB eligibility) HB - Stephen Jackson, Jamaal Charles, Jonathon Stewart, Ricky Williams TE - Jason Witten K - Sebastian Janikowski DEF - Minnesota I'll get another TE, K and DEF when I need them...I don't really believe in drafting 2 of each.
Yeah, not going to lie..not that good. Palmer's days of being an elite QB are over. Sad to say, but injuries really derailed his career. Even with Owens there, he can't make the throws that he used to. Outside of Andre Johnson, not a very impressive receiving corp, either. Hopefully I'm wrong though?
Best QB, best WR, top 3 TE, top 3 defense, top 5 RB. I think you'll do fine. Brady is going to have another 2007. Maybe not 50 TDs, but 40.
Seeing as how I need Palmer for one game, I'm not terribly worried. I think my WR corps could be solid, obviously Andre is going to be a stud, and I think the Giants are going to become a more pass oriented team, making Nicks a solid guy too. Mike Wallace...I'm not banking on him too much until Roethlisberger gets back. He was good last year and should get a lot more looks now that Holmes is gone; I'd think he'll be the #2 guy all year behind Ward. And then with Edwards, I'm hoping that Sanchez improves enough to make him relevant, and with Houshmanzadeh, he's the only real reliable WR in Seattle, so he should be close to 1000. I realize there's a lot SHOULDs in here...so I'm not banking on any of them other than Andre doing anything, but I'm hopeful.
Charles could be really good, but I don't think Weiss is going to give him as many carries as a guy like Jackson will get.
if jamaal gets 2/3rds the carries jackson gets, he'll still get more yards. i'm not really all that worried about thomas jones stealing goal line carries, because it's not like people are going to be catching jamaal and bringing him down inside the 5. he takes it to the house. however, i don't trust charlie wiess at all. he might just be dumb enough to have matt cassell throw 40 times a game rather than give it to one of the best running backs in the league(which is what charles is if given the opportunity) just because he likes to see the ball thrown.
I just drafted my second team, I had the 4th pick. QB - Kevin Kolb, Mark Sanchez WR - Reggie Wayne, Greg Jennings, Wes Welker, TJ Houshmanzadeh, Devin Hester, Deymarius Thomas RB - Ray Rice, Rashard Mendenhall, Beanie Wells, CJ Spiller TE - Vernon Davis K - Nate Kaeding DST - Green Bay Only thing that concerns me is QB. However, I think Kevin Kolb is going to be a stud, and given how deep a lot of other points on my team are, it doesn't concern me too much.
Well, there wasn't a whole lot left. QBs went early in this draft, with the top QBs - Rodgers, Manning, Brees, Romo, Schaub, Brady - all going after I picked Rice and before I got my 2nd pick. So because of this, I just waited on a QB until late. I'm not going to waste a pick on someone like Favre, who might have a huge downer of a year without Rice. And I'd have taken Rivers, but I neglected he was there and took Jennings instead the pick before.
