Three things: 1) Oden's status is still VERY unclear 2) Rudy is gone, gone, gone 3) Joel won't be ready for the season start
You can summarize all of Cho's interviews in one all-encompassing statement "Everyone is working really hard to do what is best for the franchise. " His interviews are more boring than KP's. They sorta give credence to the whole "YES MAN" theories about why we hired him.
me thinks you ABM'd it up a bit. So basically, he's on schedule and they're not sure yet (because you know, it's like almost 2 months from now, and it's stupid to make concrete declarations now) turned into "VERY" unclear.
he actually stopped for this:
Some Oden clarification (if some of you nobs can wake yourself long enough to read it ) http://www.blazersedge.com/2010/8/26/1653218/a-little-more-from-rich-cho-on Sorry if that's not enough sunshine pumping for the care-bear gang.
Probably because there is a chance Oden will be ready for the start of the year, but they are certain Joel will not...
How does not wanting to say something he really does not know the answer to equate to being a "Yes Man"? And like wise how does being boring and uninformative mean that either. Bob Whitsit would never answer a question. For him it was all about keeping a poker face. Cho's job is not to entertain or keep us informed. I am not sure what you guys expect him to say. It is not about toeing the company line. It is about playing it smart. I could care less what he says, it all comes down to what he does.
Would people prefer David Kahn? He's certainly interesting. And Paul Allen is so dull, too. If only we had Michael Heisley!
Yeah, and look how exciting Isiah Thomas was as GM! Bad trades, sexual harassment, name it, he did it. Look, no one can say to the day when an injury will be healed. I once had a shoulder injury and my boss demanded I get from the dr EXACTLY when it would be totally healed. Of course, no doc will say that. Because all anyone can do is be approximate. (Boss used that as excuse to fire me, I got a better job and a legal settlement.) Cho is not going to say Oden will be ready to play October 29 at 7:05 PM. He can't. Oden can't. The docs can't. All anyone can say is he's on schedule and working hard. If that's not enough, and I know we are all impatient for Oden to return, that's just too bad because it's really the best anyone can do.
