Jay DeMerit has a well made resume and a snazzy new suit to go on the job interviews as he is still looking for work. The 30-year-old former Watford captain has won 28 caps for the US and has only ever played professionally for Watford. Here's a bit from the BBC on his search and a couple of others. He's got a pulse ladies and gentlemen. World Soccer Reader is reporting that Wolfsburg are signing DeMerit on a free transfer from Watford. He'd be competing (probably not successfully) for playing time with Arne Friedrich, Alexander Madlung, Simon Kjaer, and Andrea Barzagli at centerback. I don't really like this move as he won't be getting playing time and he'll be called upon to keep the seats warm for Tim Ream, Omar Gonzalez, Ike Opara, and Gale Agbossomounde through the Gold Cup in 2012.
