In his two seasons with the Chicago Bulls, point guard Derrick Rose(notes) has amassed an unimpressive three-point shooting percentage of .242.

Rose tells the Chicago Tribune that he's been working extra on nailing those long-range shots in order to open up his game and the floor for his Bulls teammates. His work paid off for Team USA the other day when he hit three-of-four shots from three-point range.

While the FIBA three-point line is three feet closer to the basket than the NBA's, Rose told the paper that he's spending extra time after Team USA practices to shoot from the NBA distance.

"It's something I've been working on over the summer with my trainer Rob (McClanaghan), and over here I stay after practice and take lots of reps shooting NBA threes," Rose told the paper. "Now when I'm open or need to shoot it, I will because I am confident it'll go in."

That should help make some room for Carlos Boozer(notes) to do his thing around the basket.

An article, I think sometime in July said he had improved his three point shooting. We shall see.

In the game yesterday he was 3-4, however, the FIBA three pt line is a bit shorter than the NBA's line.

I'll believe it when I see it, but I tend to believe it more when it's talk coming from Rose than from other guys (a la the Tyrus 700 shot a day challenge)

I think that was before his second year.
So actually, he was making 700 shots, not taking 700 shots every day. In retrospect, I think he was probably taking about 3000 shots a day to make those 700.

I doubt he was as much of a spaz in an empty gym as he was during an actual game.
