Far from over but Spain and Fernandez look flat. It's possible his record setting 3 point % was a fluke and his shooting % last season and in World's is more reflective of his true capacity. Is Fernandez going to go 0/5 from 3's in this game?
Rudy is beasting it up in the second half after a lackadaisical first. His shot isn't dropping, but he's been very impactful.
Sick 2nd half. Rudy is so aggressive with his rebounding. It's impressive. Where is that when he's on the court for us?
Bye-bye, eSpain. Rudy was aggressive in parts of the second. He explodes WHEN he has the ball, but otherwise is flat on his feet and his movement away from the ball is subpar. So glad we have Wes Matthews coming in - I guy who I hear doesn't take plays off and plays hard anytime he's on the floor.
Rudy and Navarro did everything they could in the second half, but poor perimeter D, and absolute shit plays by Rubio, Garbajosa, and zero D by Gasol cost Spain this game.
Yup. But Spain's poor perimeter and transition D had a role in making Serbia look amazing. Seriously, they gave up like 20 WIDE OPEN threes today. (To his credit, Rudy played decent D individually, though). It just sucks that he can't play more to increase his value.
It's hard to put effort in when your effort is going towards sandbagging it on purpose so you can leave.
If you're going to subscribe to a conspiracy theory, at least try to make it one that's remotely plausible.
Rubio was very unimpressive during this entire tournament. Today he looked exactly like Sergio Rodriguez. Sloppy/High-risk passes and can't hit the open jumper with any consistency. Ilyasova would be the perfect backup in Portland. A hustle/rugged PF with range. I also like Spain's Fran Vasquez.
I've been saying Rubio is a gimmick for a while now. But noooooooo, some overseas basketball novice decided he was to put me in my place and say Rubio is the second coming. . .
