I feel like this is a good time to write a bit about Favre as a Viking. After becoming a fan of the Packers back when they defeated the New England Patriots I saw Favre as a super star QB. I was young at the time, only 6 years old. I thought it seemed cool at the time, I hardly remember the game, but I remember hearing Favre's name over and over. The next year I watched the Packers again in the Super Bowl when they lost to the Broncos. I was sorta sad, but I didn't really know much at the time. Gradually I grew closer to the Packers, and became a bigger fan of Favre. I started to love to watch Favre every Sunday, sometimes Monday night. I learned to deal with his interception frenzy, and respected him greatly. I watched his retirement when he retired from the Packers which gave Rodgers the opportunity he has taken and ran with. Later on in his career as a Packer I saw him as a great player, one of my favorites in the league. But everything is different now. Favre as a Viking disgusts me. I dislike the Vikings more than I dislike the Bears. Living in the Chicago area, you would expect me to be a Bears fan, and hate the Packers. But that is not the case. Everytime Favre says something about his Vikings team being the best he played with, the more and more I start to hate him. If he was on any other team, the Dolphins, Browns, Raiders, 49ers, or any other non-divisional team I wouldn't have a problem at all. I like watching him play, but not in a Vikings jersey. I didn't mind to much that he was on the Jets for a season. I thought at the time he was playing on more year then calling it quits. But when I saw he became a Viking, I was angry. I have friends who are Packer fans who either still love him, or they hate him. He has ruined his career in some Packers fan's eyes, and on the other hand he hasn't. Some will argue he is playing because he loves the game, then other will say hes playing to get back at the Packers. Favre is still one of my favorite players of all time. Hes made plenty of mistakes when he threw interceptions but I have forgiven him for those. The thing I will not forgive him for is his retirement's and that ugly purple jersey.
