Normally, I'd say any pitcher with an 11-10 record (with around 4 starts left) would not being even given consideration by the dinosaurs of the baseball writers' guild. And he still might not. But I've now heard a couple of blurbs from national sources talking about his candidacy, and so I brought up Larry Stone's article and looked at it through non-homerific eyes. http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/ht...012793817_six_games_that_could_cost_feli.html Either way, it's amazing what he's done with a historically crappy offense and support level.
I think he's got a shot, but if CC wins 20+ (which he should, given that he's at 19 with at least 3 starts left) and keeps his ERA close to 3.00, I don't think he does. If CC manages to choke, not get to 20 wins and watches his ERA balloon, then Felix has a good shot...too bad I don't think that's going to happen. I'll give Felix his due though. He's been dominant all season and if he was on a team that had a competent offense, he could be flirting with 20 wins instead of hovering around .500.
