Michael Putnam shot a five-under 66 on Friday to take a one-shot lead midway through the Utah Championship. Chasing his first Nationwide Tour win, Putnam finished 36 holes on the Willow Creek course with a 10-under 132. Cliff Kresge had a 67 and was alone in second place at nine-under 133, while Rob Oppenheim also carded a 67 to move into third at eight-under 134.
