http://www.basketballforum.com/chicago-bulls/19540-bullsaholics-anonymous-roll-call.html Man, reading through that thread is really a trip. Those were hard, hard years. How did we survive?
Good God, thank you, Good Hope. I remember that thread well and I just read through the whole thing. I laughed a lot and felt sad seeing posts from old friends I no longer have contact with. The sad part aside, it really made my day reading through the old Bullsaholic Anonymous thread. That thread was definitely a perfect time capsule from the old board in the Salad Days. I really, really miss that. I don't know where a lot of those old timers are -- PC Load Letter, Lizzy, ChifaninLa. Superdave/Vin Diesel, The Krakken...RetroDreams ducked in for a bit a couple of years back and then disappeared. Nater? Where'd he go? Louie? Mizenkay pops by every once in a blue moon at RealGm, as does Spongyfungy, but neither very often. Ironically, Thunderspirit was one of those bbb on again/off again posters I missed (since he's one of the guys I've met) and it just so happens he started to post on RealGm fairly regularly right before I left. Talk about bad timing. Transplant is another guy I had missed who started positng there. If anyone has a clue how to get in contact with some of these old friends (without spamming, I hate that), I'd sure like to hear from them.
I would pay $250 to re-live the Basghetti80/Bullhawk/JohnPaxson self-discovery all over. Please, tell me you guys remember that.
Pretty excited about the upcoming season. Seems like we finally have a legit borderline NBA contender, assuming we get a bit more development from Rose and Noah. If they didn't build that monstrosity in Miami, one would think there is a chance to get out of the East. Who knows though, its a long season. Maybe Miami will fall apart somehow. I'm probably a Bull-A-Holic for even having such thoughts.
Don't take this the wrong way -- I mean it sincerely -- it really makes me happy to read what may be one of the most positive posts you ever typed. That's great. Maybe we DO have a pretty good team! And I read through that Bullsaholic thread the other day and I'm pretty sure you posted on there somewhere.
Well, its not really a matter of being positive or negative. A team of slightly above average to average players (Hinrich, Gordon, Nocioni, Deng) is likely going to be average. Not much more than that. A team of all-star level talent that knows how to play together and are well coached is likely going to be good. I'm looking forward to a good season. Boozer and Rose should work well together, Noah and Boozer should clean up the boards and I like Brewer and Deng in their roles, along w/ Gibson as an OK backup. Just wish we had a shooter to play heavy minutes. Also happy to see Thibs. Always wanted him over Del Negro.
