Man am I glad we didn't get the #1 pick like we were supposed to that year. We would have ended up with that Italian stiff and probably NOT Brandon!
I don't think Punani was number one on the Blazers draft board, most observers saw that as Bryan Colangelo acting kind of too clever for his own good.
What would the top picks look like right now? 1-Brandon 2-LA 3-Bargnani I forgot who was all in that draft.
Creep? I wasn't saying they would have been the picks 1 through 3, I was just relaying to HCP some of the other big names in that draft.
Roy, Rondo, LMA, Milsap, Gay. Of course, if you go by rings, it's Adam Morrison, Rondo, the rest - as god intended!
I do seem to recall a quote from KP where he said they were excited about the potential of Bargnani (the next Dirk and all that crap), but knew he wouldn't fall to them at #4 so they weren't working him out, etc. Then, there was a picture of the Blazer draft board in the war room, and Barganini wasn't on it at all, which is weird. Before the draft, I had LaMarcus as pick 1a, and Rudy Gay as pick 1b.
Didn't we all learn this summer that KP really wanted Adam Morrison but was overruled by Patterson and that Roy held a grudge against KP for wanting Morrison? Lmao, who was the clown that said that again?
GM's and owners vote with their checkbooks. Despite the fact that we here critisize what a lot of (seemingly crazy) owners and management do, I think that the checkbook votes have to carry a LOT of weight. I may have different opinions, but I certainly never backed them up with millions of my own money. How do they rank?
