Wiman vs. Danzig 2 is off.

    Escudero will face Oliveira instead.

The poster doesn't make much sense anymore now, huh?

The might as well have Superman vs. Batman on it.

Re: UFC Fight Night Live 22: Marquardt vs. Palhares (Sept. 15th)

Efrain Escudero has badly missed weight (159lbs., 3lbs. over). 20% of his show money will go to Oliveira. Likely somewhere around $3000.

    MAIN CARD

    * Nate Marquardt (186) vs. Rousimar Palhares (186)
    * Efrain Escudero (159)* vs. Charles Oliveira (154)
    * Jim Miller (155.5) vs. Gleison Tibau (154)
    * Cole Miller (156) vs. Ross Pearson (156)

    PRELIMINARY CARD

    * John Gunderson (156) vs. Yves Edwards (155)
    * Jared Hamman (205) vs. Kyle Kingsbury (206)
    * Dave Branch (186) vs. Tomasz Drwal (185.5)
    * Rich Attonito (185) vs. Rafael Natal (186)
    * David Mitchell (170.5) vs. Anthony Waldburger (171)
    * Brian Foster (170.5) vs. Forrest Petz (170)

Re: UFC Fight Night Live 22: Marquardt vs. Palhares (Sept. 15th)

So... that was pretty okay. Miller/Tibau was a bit of a drag but the other fights had a lot of good action.

Dunno what the deal is with the Marquardt fight. Palhares is experienced enough to know when someone is slick but the ref, doctors, etc. didn't think it was the case. NEVER STOP FIGHTING! Holy Hannah he got his bell rung for trying to pull a Jamie Varner and call time-out.

Efrain Escudero seems to be going the way of Brandon Vera, his killer instinct running out of his body by the second. Dunno what is going on with him. Oliveira looked good, he's creative but he needs to bulk up and get more power on his punches. Good prospect.

Cole Miller got kind of lucky, I think. He wasn't doing so well toe-to-toe with Pearson and couldn't get much going elsewhere. Pearson had a good run going and now he's going to have to start over. Hopefully he doesn't go the Escudero route and start fighting safe.

A note with these fight nights and free shows: DVR them and wait 30-40 minutes after show start before hitting play. Then you can fast-forward through all of the filler junk Spike and the UFC cram it with. The first fight didn't even start until 8:16. Price you pay for getting a free show, so to speak.

I should give more respect to Cole Miller. He fought Pearson at his own game, where he knew he'd be at a disadvantage, and still won. Took balls.

Is there any protocol for looking into Marquardt's legs? Like speeds said Palhares seemed damn sure that he was greased and he looked greased based on how his heel slipped out. Hes a moron for letting his guard down though.

They are saying that both the ref and a comission rep examined him post-fight - and they found nada. He was probably just sweaty.

Marquardt said he was inspected before the fight as well.

He said he worked out hard in the dressing room to get a good sweat going. Combine that with shaved legs and I'm sure he was slippery.

Pearson has talent, tough loss for him, hopefully its just a minor set back though. Him and Oliveira are both good prospects in the LW division
