Re: Chael Sonnen's post-UFC 117 drug test comes back dirty IIRC Sean Sherk/Hermes Franca were suspended for a year. Sherk was able to appeal the decision and his suspension was cut in half. There is some concern that the CSAC is full of idiots.

Could be the typical tainted supplements/medicine argument. We'll need to see the volume that was found in his system (if that data is released). Sonnen has 30 days to appeal. He is currently being suspended for one year and fined $2500. It is likely he'll have to forefit his purse from UFC 117 which could end up costing him a hell of a lot more depending on whether he got a PPV cut. They're already a controversial committee, this won't help them at all. I think its evident that Sonnen was roiding, though. He's clearly accumulated a lot of bacne over his past couple of fights.
