Stop me if Im wrong but in that equation wouldn't Bayless be the starting PG? Out of the 5 reasons I don't want that trade that might be the first.

Hmmm. Scanned the other thread, which I had already read before. Didn't see any mention of a national sportswriter who suggests a trade that he thinks puts the Blazers at the top of interesting offers for Carmelo.

But feel free to jump in with a snide comment to any new thread I happen to start in the future.

    Sheesh.

Melo is an amazing player, but he's all about Melo. If you said to him, "there's no 'I' in team", his reply would be "yeah, but there's an 'm' and an 'e'."

Chauncey settled him down a bit, but if he bristled under Karl, imagine him under Nate. Also, our quality and availability of weed would adversely affect his play.

Just for fun, here's a hypothetical 4 team mega-trade that I like a lot better:

Portland: Out - Oden, Rudy, & Miller, In - Chris Paul
Denver: Out - Anthony, In - Oden, Rudy & Deng
NOH: Out - Paul, In - Rose, Taj Gibson, & Joe Johnson
Bulls: Out - Deng, Rose, Gibson, Johnson, In - Anthony & Miller

    Trade Machine

It would be painful for the Bulls to part with Rose, but Carmelo is a pretty big prize and Miller could fill in ably for a couple of seasons. The Hornets come out with a PG arguably of the same caliber as Paul and garner some immediate cap relief. Portland gives up on Oden...which sucks, IMHO, but gets one of the best PGs in the game and still has Camby and Przybilla to play center. Denver gets Oden, who still has the potential to be a franchise player, plus an able SF to replace Anthony.

Yea because it makes sense to keep one SF when you are bringing in a bonfied stud SF.....

Your comment is like the 20th in a long thread. I guess I didn't read it. Either way, I think the subject was worthy of it's own thread. Sorry if you disagree. It's not like I'm known for starting redundant threads, so I didn't appreciate the needle you stuck in your post.

Iverson was an MVP and led his team to the Finals with no superstar teammate. Roy hopes to be that good someday.

Do you mean remove Oden from the trade? Batum would get like 8 minutes a game with Melo' on board.

Talent wise I agree. I'm not certain it would work out personality wise. I'm not against trading Oden for a superstar player. Hate to give up Batum as well, but where are we going to play him? Maybe trade Roy for Paul and keep Batum as our starting SG? Getting crazy now I know.
