Good for Cho - it would be silly to not at least ask if Melo had interest and, if so, what it would take to get him. I don't really like Melo but he is undeniably a mega-star.

As for Melo himself, what an ass. Clearly he cares about the spotlight more than winning, which is exactly what most of us on this board presumed.

Still, if Portland really wanted to go after him (which does kind of sound like a Paul Allen move)...I would get Roy to talk to him. Although maybe that's tampering....not really sure.

while I dont like Melo much either... honestly unless we are around him, we cant say that its more about spotlight... The guy is from the East coast, and he has spent a good portion of his growing up and mature years, away from home. For some people going back closer to home is really that important.

Well, except for the fact that the three places he's listed as possible destinations include NY, LA, and Chicago.

Guy's got incredible talent, but ... I'm not sorry that he's not interested in Portland.

If you were a wealthy, famous and young black man from New York would you want to come to the whitest city in America?

Make no mistake, the city of Portland itself is a major reason why free agents don't want to come here.

    No. No. No.

This can't be true. I was told by posters on this board that Cho was doing nothing but sitting on his thumb and playing solitaire. Surely they couldn't have been wrong.

    stop snitchin'.

And I don't hold it against him. When I had a choice to move for work, I chose a place closer to where I grew up. I wouldn't have wanted to go to NYC, especially if NYC could only offer me the same salary as I got up here.

I hear ya on that... I am paying more in Rent where I live now because its where I want to be. I could get cheaper rent and move further away from home... but its where I am happiest and most comfortable for me personally.

He would never come here. That is obvious. Just get him out of our division, and conference, and I'll be thrilled!

That sourse could be someone on this board. Until something gets done, people will say he isn't doing anything. We all know in our hearts that he is working

Melo is in for a wakeup call. By having such a small list, the Nuggets are going to get bent over by any of those teams that he has named, so they're going to pull a Cho and wait. It's Rudy all over again.

I guess I don't see it that way. Melo has leverage in that, A) he's a top player in the league, and B) his contract is running out so the Nuggets stand a good chance of losing him for nothing. Rudy has zero leverage.

But you're right that he's not making it easy for a trade to happen.

True, but we might see the Nuggets wait until the deadline before trading him away. At this point, it doesn't sound like they're getting the best trade offers, and it's possible they will want to wait until February to try to convince him to stay.

I guess I'm missing where it says that there have been any discussions at all between Denver and the Blazers. Everybody knows that Anthony wants either LA, NY, or Chicago. It fairly easy to say that Anthony is not interested in an extension outside of those cities. Also, I imagine every team in the NBA has "shown interest (whatever that means) in Anthony. This exact same 'article' could have been written with another 10 teams in the place of Portland.

Funny how that works, isn't it?

Also, what's funny is the trade "KPee" made for Marcus Camby is actually saving the Cho's ass right now. Damn "KPee" for always looking ahead to the future to help the team.

In the meantime, Cho just sits there, doing.......:dunno:

Playing solitaire. Or at least that is what I gather from blazersboy's post and his mystery source.
