Former WWE and WCW wrestler Jorge Gonzalez died Wednesday in San Martina, Argentina. He was 44. Gonzalez was 7'6 and had been in failing health due to kidney failure. He was confined to a wheelchair. He worked in WCW as El Gigante from 1989 and 1992 and in WWE as Giant Conzalez in 1993. He retired from the ring in 1995. He was drafted by the Atlanta Hawks of the National Basketball Association in 1988 but didn't make it. Hawks owner Ted Turner offered him a roster spot in WCW which began his wrestling career.
