"Michael Vick threw an early touchdown pass to DeSean Jackson for the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday to take a 7-0 lead over the Jaguars.

But he admitted to feeling impatient as the Eagles stalled on three subsequent possessions.

"There was a point in this game when I was forcing myself to make plays," Vick said. "The guys had to tell me to relax. I shouldn't have them telling me that. I'm the quarterback."

Given the fact that Vick was making his second start since the 2006 season, having to make some adjustments to being the leader of an offense might be understandable.

But he took his teammates' advice to heart. Vick blended with the talent around him, according to Eagles coach Andy Reid, and accounted for two touchdowns in the third quarter to lead the Eagles to their 28-3 victory over the Jaguars at EverBank Field.

Vick beat the Jaguars for the second time in two starts (he threw two TD passes in 2003 to lead Atlanta to a 21-14 victory over the Jaguars), and won his second game in two starts in Jacksonville. He was the Gator Bowl MVP in 2001, guiding Virginia Tech to a 41-20 victory over Clemson in his final college game.

Named the starter last week over Kevin Kolb by Reid, Vick completed 17-of-31 passes for 291 yards and gained 30 yards on four scrambles, capped by a 17-yard run for a score late in the third quarter.

Vick's TD passes to Jeremy Maclin covered 16 yards with seconds left in the first half and 45 yards in the third quarter.

There were a few rusty moments. Vick bounced a few passes well short of his receivers and absorbed three sacks.

But the final outcome was certainly as much as he could have expected.

"I'm having a lot of fun," he said. "It's a tough game, so I it's as much fun as you can have. I'm going to keep learning, keep grinding."

Vick said he is determined to be more of a pocket passer than the younger version that frequently looked to run first at Atlanta from 2001-2006. There were some doubts because of the Eagles patchwork offensive line, but Vick has many dangerous skill position players around him, and he said running will always be the last option."
