It's been a weird media day this year. Greg looking like he'll be out for a while. Rudy being Rudy. Nice!
Joel had a much worse injury than Oden. What's going on with Greg? Why the wishy-washy uncertainty with his rehab?
The announcers basically said, the doctors told greg his injury is healed. The announcers suggested maybe his muscles might not be up to where they need to be for him to play. But I think it's a lot of psychological.
Physiologically, if Oden is "normal", there should be a generally accepted time of rehab for this injury within the medical community. Fractures heal and muscles rebound within a predictable window. That he seems puzzled whether or not he'll be back by XMas is a bit concerning, isn't it?
Actually, somebody asked him if his heart wasn't in it and he agreed. But he didn't come up with the words in the first place (important, given his still-imperfect English). But yes, it's pretty much full-on "please release me, I don't want to play anywhere in the NBA". As Mike Rice says, this is no doubt orchestrated by his Agent, particularly given how willing he was to play in NY or Chicago earlier in the Summer.
lol yep. i like wes but i wonder are we better then we were a year ago? no oden, pryz, webster or rudy is that better? me thinks no
I'm just mostly concerned about Oden. No timetable except he's likely out for the opener? Seems odd to me to announce that a month before the game.
the blazers want to soften the blow. this way by knowing he's out for the opener will mentally keeps fans expectations down. listening to roy... he kept saying our goal is to have greg ready for april. that sounds like his timetable if im being honest.
