George Lucas didn't go far enough in pissing off Star Wars fans already this year by announcing the Blu Ray set will be special edition versions, not original cuts. Even though everyone hates the special editions he has insisted on using them "because they look better and the old ones are too hard to clean up". And he has extra cut footage he's jamming into them, as if the cutting room floor was littered with dollar bills. Now he is going to release all six episodes, starting with the shit sandwich that was Phantom Menace, to theaters in 3D beginning in 2012. He has a longstanding feud with James Cameron because of Titanic being such a big hit and kind of stealing Menace's thunder, and I suppose this is his attempt to try and match him. And it would be appropriate to expect the 3D versions to also be the extended special edition series. FML. Between this and Indiana Jones its like he's on a crusade to ruin everything he's ever done.
