Stroke of genius move by Riley lol.

BTW didn't know where else to post this but the Warriors have invited Aaron Miles and another PG by the name of Cheyne Gadson (D-Leaguer) to camp. To my knowledge there is still one roster spot open and I would assume we don't sign any other vets and opt to go with one of the TC invitees (Miles, Gadson, Goodridge, and a guy who I pimped for years out of UConn; Jeff Adrien). Maybe Carney took the last spot actually...not sure. Since being cut by us way back in his rookie season under Monty, Miles has been playing in Euroleague and from what little stats I can find he still can't shoot. Dude could play D and floor general extremely well though. Dunno much about Gadson as his D-League stats are limited but we do well with D-League talent.

Probably another PG option is more of a need than another big man. Lin may not be ready to play and our next best options are Monta, Bell, or D. Wright. I liked Miles game even though I don't like PGs who can't shoot but I still like Adrien better. Goodridge seems like hes just an athlete and the other guy is a mystery. I'd say Miles ends up making the team again, hell for all we know he and Smart may have got along real well and Smart invited him back.

Seems like a no-brainer, but why do it now? I mean what if he gets seriously injured or something? Why not wait until some time next year? Probably not a big deal but it's another move like giving Smart a 3 year deal when they didn't have to, or extending SJax when they didn't have to, I don't get it.

The S-Jax deal was totally different. Jack had two seasons left on his contract and dude was like 32 years old (contract would run till he was pushing 40). A move like picking up the option is just a courtesy IMO. Curry is the fucking man and we all know it, why jerk him around. We're not talking about a 10+ mil/year contract extension its just an option for a few more years at rookie money for the runner up ROY. Even if he did get brutally injured we'd still pick it up I reckon.

Yeah, if we didn't do it, someone would have paid him $8+ mils that year or more. Might as well be us for 3 mils now. Then after that we can sign him long term.

Plus, it makes sense to reward Curry early and make him feel well taken care of. He's our future. The Jax deal was a joke because he didn't give a f#ck about the Warriors future... he just wanted the bling and more uzis so he could roll with his homies.

It's a sign of good faith on the Warriors' part, and it gives Curry a bit of confidence from the security the extra guaranteed year provides.

Gotta love a team that takes care of its players like this.

Anything to keep him happy...we don't want this guy going sour on us. It could be years, decades even, before we could find a comparable point guard that drops that far in the draft.
