Miami Heat? No. Los Angeles Lakers
    ? No. Chicago Bulls? Yes.

Coming into the 2010-2011 NBA season, the automatic favorites to win the NBA finals are the Miami Heat and Los Angeles Lakers. The Heat because of the “three kings” (or whatever lame-archetype name they have been given) and the Lakers because they are the two-time defending champions. They’ve got the targets on their backs, but that doesn’t mean they are guaranteed a spot in the finals or another set of championship rings.

What you all need to realize is that there’s this team in Chicago who have built a more-than-solid roster that is capable of beating anyone in the league. You know what wins championships? Defense. You know who the Bulls hired as their head coach? Tom Thibodeau. You know who Tom Thibodeau is? The former assistant coach to Doc Rivers and the Celtics–arguably the best defensive ball club in the association.

Now you might be saying, “you can play the greatest defense in the world but you still need to outscore your opponent.” I realize this. The Bulls realize this. They made some astronomical moves this offseason that crept under the radar due to the Lebron James “I’m taking my talents to South Beach” atom bomb-like announcement. The Bulls added a guaranteed 20 points and 10 rebounds per game to their roster in Carlos Boozer, as well as a lights-out shooter who will spread the floor and let Boozer do his dirty work inside in Kyle Korver. They also added a great back up point guard via the Golden State Warriors
    in C.J. Watson.

You know what sweetens these pick ups even more? Boozer and Korver have a solid tenure together from playing together in Utah. Insta-chemistry.

This is just the tip of the iceberg.

now thats some propaganda right there....sure they can beat the Celts, ORL, and Heat on one given day....they might even win a series against one of them, there is no way they can go thru two of them and then beat the Lakers in the finals

    lay off the crack

I'll take the article as a sign that the Bulls are almost in the media-personality-making-stupid-prediction-because-on-the-off-chance-they're-right-they'll-be-famous zone.

I don't think its an outrageous statement and if you had some spare change you'd be inclined to put it down if the odds were greater than 20 to 1

I'll say this ....the winner in the East this year takes the title

You could possibly have 5 x 50 win teams in the East and then 2 teams around the mid forties ( in the Hawks and Knicks ) and then there is a cliff.

Call me crazy but I want the Heat in the 2nd round . We won't get them in the first round and if we end up in 4th playing 5th ( Bucks ) then I say we take the Bucks and move on the winner of Miami and the 8th seed .

If we get Miami in the conference finals before they are really into their rythym they'll likely do us . But if we get them in the 2nd round we're a puncher's chance

I like us against the Magic , and , if we face the Celtics in the 2nd round or the Conference Finals we'll take them given our speed/tempo and their age and likely deterioration the deeper and longer they go.

I'll say it again ... I want Miami in the 2nd round.

5 50 win teams that sounds impressive... tell you look at the west and we had 8 of them last year. 20 and 10 from boozer seems a little out their 18 and 10 sounds a little more realistic. Chicago is a wild card team in the east this season. I don't think they could beat Celtics/Maimi/Magic in a 7 game series much less two of them and whoever wins the West, but with so many off season moves I won't count them out tell I see how they are playing come the regular season.

IDK bout us not bein able to take the Celtics, theyre aging and we have more weapons than we did before. Magic are deeper this year and Miami is well...Miami. Unless they blow up wit injuries. But we can take the C's in 7 games.

The C's have such a huge advantage with size, I just foresee that as being a huge problem for you guys. I could be wrong but Boozer/Noah/Taj vs O'neal/O'neal/Perkins/Garnett/Big baby just seems like too big of an advantage for the C's.

The Lakers have an easier road to the title this year.

It really all depends on how Kobe is feeling. If that injury continues to nag (+1 more year in age), then the Lakers will need to compensate for him in the West.

if im not mistaken, pau usually dominates boozer. ofcourse now boozer is with another team things are a little different, but still pau has an advantage over boozer in every category. i think bulls have as much a chance as miami or orlando at coming out of the east, but celtics at this present time have the upper hand, though we'll wait to see what sort of toll the season has on those old legs they have down low in the paint.

You're not beating the Celtics, simple as that, no way in hell your PFs and Cs can deal with Perk, KG, Shaq, Jermaine, Big Baby.

I hope you face Miami first and knock them out, lol.

Noah is slight of build compared to a guy like Bynum, so it seems like a better match up to put Noah on Pau and Boozer on Bynum.

    IMO.

Height wise? theres a minor mismatch (shaq and perkins). As far as weight goes, shaq, perkins, and big baby are the widest, but big baby is like 6'8. Joakim in 6'11 and Booz and Gibson are both around 6'8-6'9. booz is also strong as hell and noah is getting stronger. either way, i still think we have a chance because we're also quicker than all of the 5's for the C's and younger with the exception of perk and big baby.

Noah is 7.05 feet in shoes, so he's a 7 footer, I have no idea why he's not listed at 7 feet. He's pretty much the same size as Pau basically. Boozer would match up with Perkins and Shaq, so we're gonna need another big body if we wanna hang with the Cs.
