The Calgary Roughnecks have signed Daryl Veltman to a two-year contract and Brandon Ivey, Jordan Sealock and Greg Hallett to one-year deals. Terms of the deal were not disclosed and are subject to league approval. Veltman was one of the players acquired in the Boston trade from Josh Sanderson in August. In 2010 Veltman racked up 65 points (23g, 42a), following only Dan Dawson on the Blazers in points and goals. The 25 year-old lefty also scooped up 68 loose balls. Veltman is a forward and was selected first overall by Boston in the 2008 NLL Entry Draft. Ivey, Sealock and Hallett were all picked up in the 2010 NLL Entry Draft on September 8th. Both Sealock and Hallett are Alberta born and bred lacrosse players. Ivey an offensive lefty was the Roughnecks eighth selection at the draft. Ivey played with the Orangeville Northemen and tallied 60 points (35g, 25a) in the regular season and 20 points (9g, 11a) in playoffs. The Northmen were the 2008 and 2009 Minto Champions, and came in a close second to the Coquitlam Adanacs this year. Sealock, selected 32nd overall (fourth round) in 2010, was originally drafted by the Riggers in 2006 from the Jr. A Raiders, but was later offered a scholarship by Robert Morris University (RMU). Sealock was the Captain of the RMU Colonials and ended the season with 3 points (1g, 2a) and 19 loose balls. Hallett was a goaltender for the Calgary Jr. A Raiders and the last selection (fifth round, 49th overall) made by the Roughnecks. The 6'3" goaltender was coached by Roughneck players Bruce Codd (Head Coach), Andrew McBride (Assistant Coach) and Mark Scherman (Assistant Coach). Hallett played 604 minutes in 2010 and had an 84.6 save percentage and went undefeated until the Minto tournament.
