Nope. Kobe's name is too attached to Lakers history to see him in another uniform. Hell, thet's the reason Kobe is still a Laker.Well...that...and I think Kobe is the better player of the two...

Lebron is almost at Kobe's level right now and he is 8-9 years younger. How can you do not do trade?

Ah, the Lakers organization wouldn't do it anyways... And Laker fans are too attatched with him anyhow. He's better off as a Laker for life.

without a doubt. I think Kobe is a fantastic player, and could well go down as one of the greatest in history, but LeBron is nearly at the same level already. You have to take the guy that COULD be better than Jordan. James has years ahead of him.

LeBron is already on the same level as Kobe and will only get better. Kobe has already reached his prime, while LeBron has not. Yes, I would trade Kobe in a heartbeat.

Yes, it would be a big steal for LA, LeBron hasnt even started his prime yet. He will be dangerous. Kobe, well he has quite a few good years ahead of him, but LeBron will soon overtake him.Kobe will still be my favorite player though.

For all we know this is as good as Lebron is gonna get. And people were saying two years ago that Kobe would never be better than he was then, look at him now. Plus with this Lakers team Kobe is much better suited, as Lebron's passing ability would go unnoticed when his passes are knocking out Kwame Brown's teeth, and Kobe's been in the triangle for 6 years, it would take Lebron a while to figure it out. Then there's the whole issue of how badly Kobe would torch LA when the Cavs came to town. With his anger, he'd probly average 50 or 60 a game on us, and he'd spend every day in the gym working to prove the team that abandoned him wrong.BTW, you completely took this topic from CL, lol.

Kobe gets about the same amount of rebounds, just one less, but he is 2 inches smaller. Kobe is not really at his peak. Players reach their prime around 29-30. Kobe is 27. LeBron can not shoot the ball like Kobe can. He isn't CLOSE at defense. Everyone says he's a better leader, but if you think about it, this season Kobe was the better leader, except Game 7 against Phoenix. LeBron was a bad leader Game 7 against Detroit, he had a TERRIBLE second half, worse than Kobe's, but no one critizcised him for that. I like LeBron, but you bandwagon LeBron fans make me dislike him. LeBron is even with kobe at dunking. Kobe is creative like LeBron too, but Kobe passed his era of highlight dunks.

If any Laker fans say no to this, they are just ignorant Kobe lovers.

Kobe's in his prime at the moment and i think we can still do big things with him. When kobe's 29 going on 30 then i'd trade him off. Also considering the Triangle factor, the fact that Kobe/Odom chemistry was great in the playoffs i'm staying with kobe.I personally believe Kobe's not done, he's destined to do something. And why do you come in here? to stir some controversy?

Dude. Lebron is good for another 18 years. Isnt it obvious to you that he will be the next big thing? I mean, he is only 21 and already imo a better offensive player than Kobe. He has loads of talent and he will probably be better than Kobe next year. Why wouldnt you take him? Lebron = dynasty, if you put some players around him.And Lebron working with a genious like Phil Jackson could be dangerous.

This isn't at all trying to hate on Lebron...Everyone here keeps talking about how Lebron is only 21, so he's going to get better...What if LeBron is a finished product? It's not like NBA players "learn defense" over the years. The best defensive players four or five years ago are STILL the best defensive players now. How long has Steve Nash been in the NBA, again? As for offensively, I'm not certain it's entirely fair to expect him to put up better numbers than he has already. Hell, the Big O's best season was his second one.

I would. Lebron is young and his talent level is already up there with Kobe's. Give Lebron a few more years and he will possibly be up there with MJ. Kobe has limited years left and Lebron has just begun. Why Not?

Kobe coming out of high school would make me think that his body has been pushed alot more. I think he can maintain his current level for a couple of years but I don't see him getting much better.also on the leadership thing, surely game 7 is when you need to be a leader more than any other time?I think the Kobe - LeBron trade comes down to this. Do you trade a superstar Kobe who is only marginally better than LeBron is now, but has the POTENTIAL to become one of the top 2/3 players of all time.

YES! Lebron is already just as good as Kobe maybe a little worse, but has a lot of time to get better. He will turn out to be much better than kobe so why not
