Blazers now looking for a backup PG? Makes sense to me. Not like they didn't have all summer and Darren Collison available. Wow. Thats also pretty alarming that after 3 days of camp... they have come to a conclusion that Bayless isnt a PG. Amazing that most here knew that after summer league 08. Its like.. really? We don't have a backup PG?

And our coach has no contract and neither does our supposed "franchise center"

Its only October 1st. Get ready for another year in Trailblazer land. What it must be like to go into camp with no major questions. See the Celtics, Bulls, Lakers, Heat... you know all teams who could win it all. Hell even the thunder have less questions.

Nah we all know bayless cant run the point. Im sure it has legs.

However that would mean.... rudy, wes, and bayless are all SG's who play behind a star SG which means limited minutes.

Not sure who to blame here (cho or kpee) but this roster is a cluster fuck of SG's, small PF's,and fragile centers with a vet PG who cant shoot to save his life.

He also misses chunks of games.

I love how you change your argument.

Seems like this is more of one of those cases where if a backup (not a Collison or Mo Williams who would be disgruntled playing 15mpg behind Miller) was presented to them, they'd look into something for Bayless to swap. Not like they knew Bayless wasn't a pure PG and have been trying all season to trade Joel's contract and Bayless for some high level PG to ride the pines.

I think they've just been "on the lookout" in case something presents itself, and we're going to likely see Batum play the Pippen-type role of point-forward and let Matthews and Roy be on the floor at the same time. At the end of the day, you have to have your best players on the floor and it's likely that Matthews is going to prove during training camp that you've got to give him minutes.

do the lakers have questions? yes. do they have many? no.

do the blazers have many questions? yes. have they achieved anything yet to make feel comfortable? no.

lakers have won so you give them a pass on their questions. the blazers are firing gm's, looking for pg's in october and have a center who shrugged hiS shoulders when asked if hes gonna be ready by xmas.

I can't wait until Bayless is traded and people here start asking "why didn't he do that in Portland"?

You know the answer, he's right in front of you with his arms folded.

Here's how I interpreted the article. MIXUM, your life must be depressing as hell if you view the points described by Jaynes with that pessimistic approach.

    Who, Brandon Roy?

Bayless is a 2G, or at best a combo guard, trapped in a PG body. He plays for a team with a roster stuffed with 2Gs, including one of the best ones in the league. If he goes to another team that needs the talents he brings and plays great there, more power to him. The important thing would be a matter of what the Blazers get back for him in trade and whether it makes the team better.

I think the Titles still winning has a lot to do with Kobe being better than Roy, and Pau being better than LMA... that could at least have tiny bit to do with it ;)

Thanks, I saw it the same way. Bayless isn't asked to score 20 a night here like he might be able to elsewhere because we have one of the best SGs in the league. But what we really need to do is maximize the talents of players 5-9 on the roster, not 1-4.

It doesn't bother me at all that the coach and center don't have a contract. They will get paid what they are worth when the time comes.

As for backup PG, I really doubt after 2 days of practice that they have decided much of anything.

    4. have the lakers won a title?
