Anyhow Mick, be careful this time. Gaining mass isn't everything.

He's on protein and pre-workout drink like thousands of people who workout. Chron's and colon disease is hereditary, I hope he doesn't get it either.

I wonder if your really as bitter a person as you portray yourself to be on the board PapaG.

There's no question you are two in the same, both grown, middle-aged men who can spend endless hours arguing petty shit and being a pain in the ass on the boards. Go to bed, your kids need you.

Again, be careful this time around. Denial isn't healthy. My kids are sleeping, my wife is working in Hawaii this week. I am here for you.

And, I'm still not interested. ;)

You are one of a kind. Pretty disturbing that you are trying to analyze why I got Ulcerative Colitis.

Good night, Billy Ray Cyrus. Best of luck with the "protein shakes". I do hope you learned something from your obviously horrific experience, but something tells me otherwise.

First off, I apologize for being somewhat of a jackass.

But, to insinuate that I lost my colon for reasons that had to do with my lifestyle, first off is just plain wrong and simply ignorance.

For the record, I've never touched any form of steroid in my life and never plan to, nor does my brother. Genetics and FDA approved supplements are a wonderful thing.

So for now on lets not get personal and we can all just get along dandy.

Been training for years. Creatine is fine if you cycle on and off and you take in the proper fluids.

As for Whey Protein, order from bodybuilding.com I recommend ON protein. (Optimum Nutrition). You can also take Casein in the evenings to help your body from going catabolic while you rest. It will aide in quicker recovery.

    Good Luck Bro!

I apologize as well. Sometimes "talking shit" goes way too far. This is one of those instances. Best of luck gaining back what you lost as a result of your illness.

Let's get this thread back on track...Most challenging physical thing you've done?

Did a 200+ mile bike tour to the coast and back a few summers ago. Took 4 days to do it and my best day was the last day.

I've never really been into cardio exercise, but wrestling practice in high school was a test of will. Conditioning was so important, making weight wasn't always easy.

Daily doubles the two years I played football was a bitch too.

I was doing some bench presses and the staff told me I had to use the clips for "safety reasons".

It seems like it would be more safe withough the clips. If can't lift the bar, then the weights will slip off and I can get out from under it. With the clips the weights stay on the bar and I have 225 Lbs sitting on my neck, cutting off precious oxygen to my brain.

What about the guys next to you who get hit with the plates falling off? Or if the plates only fall off of one side? Good luck controlling the bar from flying out of control if that happens.

I guess that's what they're there for. It's for other people's safety not the lifter.

I've seen people who tried to lift more than they could handle and the weights just fall on the floor while the other side falls and the bar goes straight up like a flag pole.

Those situations are always nerve racking because I because you KNOW it's going to happen. You suddenly get the power of ESP or something like spidey senses

28-mile march in full combat gear (including crew served weapons) in the Marines was pretty tough.

the 40-minute swim test in uniform was tough for me, because I don't float very well.

I trained for a marathon once (before breaking my foot) and got up to a couple of 18-20 mile runs. That was boring, but not as tough as the first two were. :dunno:

I saw a guy do that at the gym and a plate fell off and went rolling across the gym and put a huge crack in a mirror. Not a good idea.

That sucks. It's definitely a body-tester...I went through as a skinny 17y/o...we had a prior Army guy who won the Bronze star in Gulf I in our battalion and he didn't make it up the 2nd hill before his knee acted up. We all thought he was washed up b/c he was 31. :sigh:

I get it now. The staff lady was all like "It's for your safety" when she meant "we don't want you hurting OTHER people or breaking our shit" She could care less about my well being. Bitch

Try to get a spotter in the gym...I've never had one person refuse the request. Some people suck at spotting but it's nice to know someone is there if you need it.
