Point Guard?Shooting Guard?Small Forward?Power Forward?Center?Which position is the most imporntant to win ball games?
Point Guard. Point Guard plays a very important role, and I know this from experience. You have to reply on your pg to bring the ball up the court and set plays. He is the on you have to trust to get the ball in the other players hands
At 1st though I would think a PG, because he can make the people around him better. But doesn't Shaq do that every night? When players double team Shaq, Shaq hits the open guy. Thats basically what a PG is used for - To hit the open man, and make players around him better. Big men can also grab 10-15 rebounds and take over a game.
There's really no position more important than another, just matters what position your best player is at. If I had to pick one though it would be point guard, because everything is runned through him and he basically controls the tempo of the game for you.
If you have a good center, you're set. Look at a guy like Shaq, and how much he ifluences the Miami Heat even though he only gets 13 shots a game. The Heat were 10-11 without him this season, even though he had the worst year of his career. If you have a great center, you'll be fine.
This is so hard to pick one.BUT I would rather have a great PF or C, then a PG. He will more likey control the tempo of the game more than anyone else, he'll be a big factor on offense and even more on defense. Just has more roles than a PG. A PG's role is pretty much just to set others up. That's why I go PF/C.
It really doesn't matter which position it is, because it is whatever your most dominant player plays.However, teams with a truly dominant center (which is almost a dead position) have the best chance to winning it all since the categories they dominate are the highest percentage and the most consistent.Good point guards depend on having teammates that are worth a crap. Guards/forwards/shooters depend on lower percentage play to drive them. Jordan was the best at being dominant from that position, but historically, the Shaqs, Hakeems, Wilts and Russels are the ones who consistently dominate. And they're all centers.
Center I guess. If you don't dominate offensively than you need to dominate defensively at that position.

Point guard. You have to know where everybody on the court is, where they are going, when to pass it to them. This is the only position where that is true. Do you think the Lakers would have been that good without Magic? The Celtics that good without Cousy? Jazz that good without Stockton? No.

Having a great post player is a big plus if you look throughout history...but it doesn't matter position wise, great players win because they are great not because they play a certain position...The Bulls and Lakers didn't need all-star PG's to lead them to titles.
If you have a big man, a PF/C that can score, rebound, play D, block shots, and also has good footwork then that is enough. Dominant Cs are needed badly against tougher teams, in order to have some kind of presence inside. Otherwise you'd just get killed in the paint, and have your offense run by guards, like the Wizards.
A good big man. THey are the ones that set the tone by scoring in the paint, getting easy buckets and stopping the other teams' players from scoring. It's that simple. Next question.
Depends on the current state of the NBA. Right now, a dominant big man is probably the most important because there aren't many teams that have elite big guys. If there is a lack of talented perimeter players down the line, a team with an elite guard would probably win titles.
