I've said all along that Korver should be our starting 2 . We're strong enough defensively with Luol, Noah and hopefully Derrick leading the way I really like a 2nd unit of Thomas, Gibson, Brewer , Bogans and CJ Watson , That's a 2nd unit that can put the smack down defensively with some good shooting capacity , slashing scoring capacity and post scoring . Two ball handlers out there in CJ and Ronnie Korver starting to support the inside out game which benefits Derrick , Booze and Lu just makes a bunch of sense
I don't really buy into the whole idea of starting lineup controversies. It always seems that it becomes pretty obvious early about which is the best way to go. I suppose there are controversies sometimes when a scorer is bumped to sixth man when they want to start. Outside of ego issues, though, how many instances can you point to real starting lineup controversies?
Deng's absolutely a better player, but maybe Korver should be starting at the 3. Rose/Brewer Korver/Boozer Noah You get a similar player to Deng starting at SG, who will be able to hide some of Rose's defensive deficiencies. You get the 3pt threat to spread the floor. You get the Rose/Boozer pick and roll option.
