I am with McMillan on this one. These pre season games are all about the young guys. We know what we have in our vets. Now we just need to see if any of the young guys have started to turn the corner. I also thought it was funny in the Oregonian interview where Batum said he had noticed even Miller and Roy playing defense. Like they hadn't before?
Aside from the occasional steal, I don't think either put in an effort at a level Batum would notice as defense.
Pendergraph will be fine as long as we don't ask him to do too much. He is fine if he is just playing D and rebounding, and getting garbage buckets. But if you are asking him to be a post threat, good luck with that.
I think Pendy would be fine if you ask him to do that on a spot minute basis. Will he be fine if asked to be a back up center (who will get consistent minutes) expecting to produce night in and night out. I don't think Pendy is ready to be a back up center . . . we will find out.
