"Dwyane Wade warned fans to arrive early for Tuesday's preseason opener to get their first glimpse of the new-look Heat's star-studded lineup. He didn't exactly have this in mind. Miami's Big Three were on the court for exactly three -- as in 3 minutes 17 seconds of playing time together. The Heat's highly anticipated preseason debut was dulled a bit by Wade's exit less than four minutes into the game because of a strained right hamstring. Wade didn't return, and he is expected to miss about a week. ``I'll be as patient as I need to be,'' Wade said. ``In another week, we'll see where I'm at.'' But unlike recent seasons, Miami didn't miss a step as a revamped roster led by James and Bosh pushed it to a 105-89 victory against Detroit at AmericanAirlines Arena. Bosh led the way the 20 points and six rebounds, and James took over early in Wade's absence and finished with 18 points and four assists to usher in a new era for the Heat. ``It's exciting because the season is back,'' James said before the game. ``I've always looked at it as an opportunity to get better. Hopefully, we can come through and do the things we need to do on the court to keep those fans excited.'' James was introduced first when the pregame starters were announced, and was loudly cheered each time he scored or made a productive move. Before the game, he downplayed the significance of his first game in the No. 6 jersey in front of a near-capacity crowd of 19,600. But he quickly found himself in a familiar role -- the focal point of the offense on a team that dictated tempo with its aggressive play on defense. The Heat led 58-38 at halftime after holding the Pistons to 39 percent shooting and forcing 14 turnovers." Read more: http://www.miamiherald.com/2010/10/06/1859294/dwyane-wade-strains-hamstring.html
