<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>From 1995 to the end of his career (including his comeback as a Wizard) Jordan played with a broken index finger on his shooting hand. He couldn't fully bend his index finger.</div>This is crazy considering he still dominated and won titles during this time. Here are some pics of it thanks to Gametime.
He isn't known as the GOAT for no reason. This is amazing though, to be able to play with a broken index finger and still be able to shoot and be one of the top perimeter defenders in the league is truely amazing.I'm surprised they don't say this in most of the biographies I've read about him.

He's still the GOAT... To bad he had that injury, if he didnt his stats would most likely be BETTER, which is goddanged amazing

This is a great fact that lots of people don't even know. He is the best player to ever play the game, and this fact just backs it up even more.
I don't know how crazy or wierd this is...NBA players historicly have a lot of broken or perminatly damaged fingers....
If you think about it, I mean yeah there was pain, but you really don't need your index finger to bend when shooting.
that's amazing. i never knew that. that's the finger you follow through with on your jumpshot and he still had a great jumpshot regardless. truly the greatest ever the list keeps adding up on this man.

You always think just because i didn't watch it live doesn't mean i didn't. Burn
I hope it's fixed now... that would suck, pain everytime you bend your finger a bit. why didnt he get it fixed with surgery or something?
He probably tried getting it surgically repaired, but even after surgery sometimes your bone doesn't completely heal, and it is impossible to bend it all the way.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (AirBlaze @ May 31 2006, 05:35 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Sucks... but bones grow stronger after they heal....</div>Sometimes the break is so bad that it cannot be completely repaired and/or healed... either way, I'm sure he doesn't really mind it anymore. Especially with all that money, he can go buy himself a few more fingers if he wanted.
You don't really need to bend your index finger to play basketball...Pain probably sucked, but painkillers could probably take care of that easy...
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (AirBlaze @ May 31 2006, 05:35 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Sucks... but bones grow stronger after they heal....</div>Damn... not mine. After I sprained moth my wrists I've never been the same again. I needed to find a new way to shoot. But I got the strength back, although pushups hurt the wrist like a bi*ch after a while.

I bend that one especially so many times. and think of hard it would be to type..
