If you're afraid of injury, you've already lost the war. Matthews played well. So did Cunningham. Leave 'em in and see what happens.

You'll be seeing it every game. Now that we have lost Juwan and Pendergraph, our only big men are Aldridge, Camby, Cunningham, and Babbitt.

I thought we missed a ton of free throws (19-28) but man did the jazz miss a TON (29-48)

26:53 this game, 29:47 in the Clipper game. I don't know where he got the 35 minutes. Anyway, my point holds. He'll be playing more.

Oh, I agree. He averaged 38 mpg last year. He's a high-minute player. May as well get him used to the minutes, because they will be even higher the first month of the season.

News flash: Sloan is a good coach. He makes ordinary players into great players.

Wow, who are these no-names who beat us.

And who is this guy Sloan?

Clearly the only solution is to sit everyone and remove the risk of injury altogether.

They call McMillan a motivator, but look at what Sloan does wth less talent. And he played his scrubs in most of the 2nd, as if this were a preseason game. He spotted us a bunch of points so we wouldn't bore him.

We played hard; it wasn't lack of effort. I'm impressed with Sloan.

Seems to me Sloan may have underappreciated what he had in Wesley Matthews. Nate's system apparently will let Matthews use his entire (well-rounded) offensive game.

I bet Matthews is ecstatic to finally have a coach who will allow him some freedom on offense.

I agree. Look what happened to Wesley Matthews when he left Jerry Sloan.

That's my point. Maybe Matthews would be less of a player (as the scouts expected) if he hadn't come under the Sloan influence. Maybe we lost tonight to lesser talent because all the Jazz play as hard as Matthews, because Sloan demands it.

He keeps churning out overachievers like Matthews--like Kirilenko, and all the no-names who beat us tonight. We'll see whether Wes can keep the overachievement going for more years than Andrei.

Sloan is a hard guy and he creates tough players. McMillan has that reputation with us, but I don't think so nationally.

So Sloan is still motivating Matthews even today? That's deep man. Deep.

He didn't say Aldridge.. He was talking about Matthews. Looks like you inserted "Aldridge" into the quote.

I'm not gonna say Rudy can do better things with those minutes, or that Mathewss, or Bayless, Or Batum. It's true, but it doesn't tell the whole story.
The thing is, I am almost 2 meters, I have good hands, am a good defender, I run the floor, etc... I can earn better stats in 24 minutes!

Upon examination, I do believe you're right. He was talking about Matthews.
