Seems like they are using general fund money earmarked for academics to help educate athletes. Why is this a bad thing? Is it illegal or something? What is the scandal? How does this relate to the athletic department being self-sufficient in paying for athletics? So odd.

Did you read the article? The academic people actually require that their money be used towards that kind of program to enforce certain regulations on staffing, hours of operations, etc. But don't let facts get in the way of your smear.
