The disgrace is that Roy was getting outplayed by a newcomer to the team who barely knew everyone's name, while Roy was barely working up a sweat. In 26 minutes against the Clippers, he had only 2 rebounds and 2 assists. You may not have checked those stats, but any real NBA fan with a knowledge of the game would do so . . .
This is really a silly argument to be having at this juncture. If we're a week into the season and Roy is still struggling, maybe then... but I wouldn't worry until the season starts.
Still think coaches, like McMillan, are playing to win these games as you alleged earlier? He didn't play Roy and Camby tonight. Is that going to be his regular season strategy?
Well, Matthews and Cunningham have outplayed Roy and Camby thus far in the all-important preseason. Of course, Matthews only played seven minutes tonight, so you may have a point. Is Babbit the new SG/SF hybrid?
Who said anything about the panic button? If Roy still looks lethargic and isn't asserting himself after the season starts, I would say that might be call for concern.
You aren't serious with this thread right? What will you or could you possibly say in 4 weeks when he is averaging 22 points/ 5 rebs and 5 dimes a night? Honestly? This is not for real.
Sadly it is... Preseason means nothing. End of story. The only concern that we should have is limiting injuries.
I was told Roy is struggling because he is trying to change his game to fit with Miller. He is working hard to play off the ball more, and isn't in his groove. Once the regular season starts, and he is still struggling, he will go back to controlling the ball more with more ISO's.
so let me get this straight. One poster is adamant that something is terribly wrong with Brandon as evidenced by the preseason results and the rest of the board doesn't seem to think it's a big deal. Thats it right? We're nearly 100 posts in going the same direction... man we're collectively bored STOMP
You were told this? Of course! Roy's had a whole year to adjust his game, thats not the reason. He's missed a couple shots and has been deferring to his teammates. He'll be alright folks.
But Roy didn't adjust it. He is working hard on that this year. He will be fine, but that is a big reason for his early season struggles.
