"Kevin Durant bristles at the notion that he is the "anti-LeBron." In fact, he encourages comparisons. So, for that matter, does LeBron James. After a summer when the Oklahoma City Thunder forward quietly went about both signing a contract extension and leading Team USA to gold at the World Championships, Durant became viewed as the antithesis of James, with the Miami Heat forward making a public spectacle of his free agency and bypassing time with the national team. The comparisons continued this week, with a poll of NBA general managers favoring Durant to be selected 2010-11 Most Valuable Player, an award James has won the past two seasons. But in his typically soft-spoken manner, Durant said before Friday night's 103-96 preseason loss to the Heat at the Sprint Center that he views James as a worthy role model and considers him a confidant. "He's like a big brother," Durant said, before being outscored 22-21 by a more efficient James in Friday's game. "Everybody, the media, they always try to twist things up and say I'm anti-LeBron. We're two basketball players who love the game and have the same mindset, just trying to get better every day. "The way he handles his business and the way I handle my business, it shouldn't be criticized. He's been a great player in this league, elevated this league for going on seven years. Everything he's done for the league and how much he's grown as a player, you've got to commend him on that." James said he views being linked to Durant no differently than his early-career comparisons to Kobe Bryant." And this will go on and on... the comparisons i mean... I belive Kobe was also going on 7/8 years when LeBron entered and they were already comparing the 2 players... With people saying LeBron is everything Kobe isn't. Now it's LBJ's turn to be put on the pedestal lol
