No they didn't get D-Wade or LeBron like many Knick fans hoped, but they get Amare who IMO was the 3rd best free agent. Besides Amare they have signed some solid role players like Raymond Felton, Ronny Turiaf, Kelena Azubuke, and Anthony Randolph.

The East has improved drastically this past offseason obviously with the Big 3 in Miami teaming up and other big names like Boozer joining Chicago and Shaq joining Boston, however the bottom of the East is still pretty weak. In other words the top 6 in the East is pretty much set and stone with Boston, Miami, Orlando, Chicago, Milwaukee, and Atlanta. The last two spots are up for grabs, can the Knicks grab the #7 or #8 seed ?

If they play anything like they did in preseason I think we will be pretty terrible. The turnovers situation is looking especially ridiculous. But it is early and we have so many new players.

I agree though. Probably the final spots we can nab. The following must happen though:

Amar'e needs to dominate nightly and not be terrible on the defensive end. He also needs to rebound the ball.

Gallo - needs to be consistent. In two preseason games he has been terrific and terrible so far.

Randolph - needs to be consistent also and not lose out on action with injuries and stupid fouls.

Felton - he has been unimpressive so far. He needs to step it up. I would like to see him push the tempo and break down the defense more.
