At what point in this season does Oden stop getting a pass?

Since nobody knows, including the blazers... when Greg will play this year, when is it not acceptable to you as a fan that oden isnt playing? Ive said this before that Joel possibly playing opening night makes oden look awful. No way around it. Its pathetic. But what im asking here isnt wether oden is a bust or not but at what point in this season (if oden still isn't playing) is your "i had it" point with oden?

In all honesty I don't think he plays till February which is shameful. Hope he proves me wrong.

Just curious on all of your thoughts as far as his return aka when you have had it with gregs bullshit.

At the same point that the board management takes a strong position on obvious trolling.

Greg hurt himself during rehab, and that is why is is taking longer. Now if I found out the reason he hurt himself was because he was being stupid, then his pass would expire with me. If the Phoenix medical staff....(not ours, ours sucks) determined he was absolutely 100% healthy and he was still not back, I would be angry as well.

There will never be a point where it's not OK with me that he's not playing.

He will play when he is able. I don't think that he wants to play less than I want him to play, so I don't see why I'd be more upset than he would be when he's not on the court.

That's a curious observation. Is there a distinct line between the Blazers' "training" and "medical" staffs? That asked, what are the names of the Blazers' medical staff?

    Thanks.

It's a contract year for Greg, so I'm working under the assumption that he will play when he's ready to play. He has every thing to lose by not playing, so logic dictates to me that he just isn't physically ready. There isn't much more to it, IMO. When his body has fully repaired itself and allows Greg to play at his highest level, then he will play. You can't put a time table on such a thing.

What is the point? There is nothing to be gained from being pissed about Oden not playing, unless you call becoming a pissed off fan a "gain". If Oden plays again one day great. If he doesn't, great. If he comes back and plays awesome, big bonus.

you cant put a timetable on such a thing?????????????????

joel injured his knee twice in less then a year (both worse then gregs 1 injury) and might opening night. oden is 22... joel 30 something. there is no excuse but pathetic on odens part. think about what you guys are saying. if this was any other player... he would be cut by now. he was the first pick. thats why hes still here. thats why kpee isnt. thats the honest truth.

It is what it is. I am disappointed Greg is not playing, but not disappointed in Greg. Injuries happen. I will wait as long as it takes.

But you said it. He isn't any other player. He is the #1 pick the draft. You don't just give up on that man, until all other options are off the table. It's not like he is Darko Milicic who has sucked ass even when he has got on the floor. Greg Oden has given us glimpses of what he can be when he has played. You cannot argue that. So until that injury reads "Career Ending" he gets his chance. That is the reality of our situation. You may not like it. But you are powerless to do anything about it. So settle down and see how it plays out.

and you cant argue HE IS ALWAYS HURT AND DOESNT HEAL NORMALLY!

And again nobody has the GUTS in here to state the answer to my question. When this season is enough enough with Greg? For me its already happened. Let me hear them so i dont get sh!t in March when hes hurt again or not playing.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
There is no specific point in this coming season where I will decide once and for all. If he suffers another major injury, I'll probably stop expecting any real impact from him long-term. Otherwise, at the end of the season, I'll see what he did and how much he played and decide if I still think he's likely to be an impact player for Portland.

How is it pathetic that Oden has worked so hard on his rehab that's he's developed tendinitis in his knee, which is causing his timetable to return to be up in the air? The guy looks like he's lost a bunch of weight, has come into camp with a better attitude, and now he's dealing with a symptom of his hard work.

It's pathetic you can't grasp what he's been through and how hard he's had to work to come back.

And as to the rumored reinjury, until it's confirmed or denied by management or Greg himself than that's all it is, a rumor none of us has any knowledge of.

EDIT: as to the question, there won't be a point in this season or any season after this one that I've had it with Oden for the time it takes to come back from an injury.

Well ever since I switched over into that camp that sort of thinks you can't really build around him or rely on him, I'm not really counting him out or counting him in. If he's healthy and provides some really good play it's all gravy, if he doesn't then I've already kind of mentally moved on.

everyone here wants it both ways....

greg is very good when he plays but is hurt a lot.... "IF he ever stays healthy"

doesnt work that way. you have to factor in injuries with him now. that means hes an average player. poor portland though. how can anyone give oden big money. thats not a gamble... more like suicide. im sure the blazers insurance will go up a few notches.
