-The Cavs and NJ are 3-1
-Golden St and Minny are 2-0
    -The Lakers are 0-2
-Kobe is averaging 7.5 points a game
-Steve Nash is averaging 6 dimes a game

I guess all this talk of Brandon's "struggles" and how he has peaked and won't make the all-star team this year, is making me crazy! Pre season is important, but you can't use it as the only way to judge a team or player good or bad. Take it for what it is, an extension of practice. If the 5 above examples of the wackyness of preseason continue on into the regular season, I will leave S2 and never return!

The difference is that the L*kers know where they need to be. Phoenix does as well. The shitty teams NEED to win to build confidence. Portland, on the other hand, has been ousted in the first round, and has their star trying to change his game to fit with the PG.

Playoffs are an easy lock this year. The western conference this year is not like the western conference of 2 years ago, or last year. The western conference has slowly been getting worse over the last 3 seasons.

So your saying we don't need to Win? Got It, Did you even watch the game last night? Doubt it. As much as Shooter hates it, B-Roy wasn't really trying at all. He was laughing and having fun. I saw nothing to indicate him trying to "change his game." In Fact, I saw him doing the same as DeRon, letting his team play without being the focal point. When he decides to turn it on, Watch Out, because like D-Will he is unstoppable when he chooses to be.

This is an interesting post because I am not sure if you agree or disagree with me?

Winning in preseason isn't as important to good teams (which Portland should be) as it is to teams trying to create a winning mentality.

I did not watch the game last night, But as for Brandon changing his game, he said he was trying to do so all off season. Brandon is trying, and needs to learn how to play off the ball for Portland to be successful in the playoffs.

The only issue that concerns me right now is the lack of bigs. B-Roy will turn it on when the real season begins like he always does, no one gives a crap about preseason wins/losses, and if we get a W in the season opener over Phoenix in two weeks, no one will even remember losing these games.

I agree. Couldn't care less about the winning in preseason, but the effort on defense and offense is all that matters. Players were constantly late on defensive rotations and not making crisp cuts on offense. It was a pretty half-assed effort all around. While I like that we are doing less ISO plays, but we can't replace them with even worse screen sets and expect better results.

The two players that impressed me with effort were Matthews and Camby. LMA was nice on the offensive side (finally some post ups early), but didn't crash the glass on D at all.

Pre-season is about process and experimentation, not results.
