"Sunday was one of the most beautiful, sunny fall days you'll ever see in Orchard Park.

Unfortunately for the Buffalo Bills, their defenders were wandering around as if they were in total darkness.

The Bills don't have any solution right now for the pitiful state of their defense, as they acknowledged after Sunday's 36-26 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

"Everything's bad right now," linebacker Andra Davis said. "There's no magical wand you can wave. I have no idea."

"I don't really have any answers," defensive end Marcus Stroud said. "We go out there and we work hard in practice. We get after it. We're just not executing throughout the whole game. We have spots where we're playing really well. We're having spots where we're playing really bad. The really bad stuff is hurting us."

"It's embarrassing," said defensive end Dwan Edwards. "I don't know what to tell you. We aren't stopping nobody. We've got to make more plays. We've got to be stronger at the point of attack. I'm kind of lost for words. We're better than that, I know that."

    Here's what we do know:

The Bills are 0-5 for the first time since 1985, and they're one of only three winless teams in the NFL.

This is the first time in Bills history they have allowed 30 points in four straight games.

Jacksonville racked up 216 rushing yards, on the heels of the New York Jets' 273-yard rushing total and New England's 200-yard rushing day the previous two weeks against the Bills. It's the first time in 38 years and only the second time in team history Buffalo has allowed 200 or more rushing yards in three straight games.

Where have you gone, Ron McDole? In the Bills' 1964 AFL championship campaign, they allowed 913 rushing yards the entire season. Through five games this year they have allowed 912.

Ranked last in the NFL in run defense entering the game, the Bills' coaches tried something different against the Jaguars. They inserted 315-pound rookie defensive tackle Torell Troup into the starting lineup in place of 250-pound linebacker Reggie Torbor. With Troup and Kyle Williams at defensive tackle, and Stroud and Edwards at end, the Bills' front was about as big as it can get."

I feel so bad for this team.

    Meh, they're getting Andrew Luck.
