lol! well hell yeah I'm a real fan again. I do totally miss being able to just walk up and get a ticket. And avoid all the Ticketbastard fees. Nowadays I have to plan an f-ing game like 2 months in advance.

As opposed to a fake Blazer fan?

I guess some would label me a fake fan because I no longer supported the Blazers during the jail-blazer era. When offered free tickets, I would decline. A lot of my Blazer gear, amassed over a period since the late 70's, went in the can.
It was more a personal statement and acknowledgment of what the team I supported had become and my limits in supporting them.

I was also the most vocal Duck fan during the offseason issues in Eugene.

I want to see the Blazers win. I'll take my kids to games and support them with time and money. If they regress to thugdom, I'm done again. They'll need to earn my support, slowly.

Nice tactic. Making a topic that DaRizzle and MIXUM can't post in.

Given that neither of those two know what it is to be a true fan. (DaRizzle being a bandwagon Faker sheep, and MIXUM... well being MIXUM.)

This topic has troll immunity.

^ Not true, has nothing to do with those guys. Just curious if there is certain levels of "fanness".

I'm not saying you did it intentionally, I'm saying it's an added bonus. :)

Interesting, I wouldn't say you weren't a real fan, it is just crazy to me to NOT go to a game ever! Regardless of record or players or situation. My Dad and his friends used to take me to the MC in the standing room only section! Sneak me into the Paramount when they showed the games up on the movie screen.

I honestly think there is certain levels, as far as being a fan goes.

Some people are just casual fans, and will occasionally watch the games that are nationally televised, don't really follow any off-season news, don't know much about the players personal lives.

Then there are the hardcore fans, who not only actively try to watch every game, but will complain when none of the pre-season games are televised. :) They hang out on a forum all day, waiting for the latest Blazer news, and know far too much about the players personal business.

And like you said HCP, on a more basic level, and this applies to me as well:

If the team wins, you as a fan are overjoyed. But if they lose, you're bummed out.

There's nothing wrong with being emotionally invested in a sports team. There damn sure isn't anything wrong with backing up the team or it's players when someone tries to drag their names through the dirt. I just don't see where some "fans", get their sense of entitlement from.

Certain poster(s) feel as if the team, or even Greg Oden himself, owe them something because they've been let down at one time or another.

Someone who is extremely passionate about the team, regardless of how their outlook of the team is.

Some people see the glass as half full, while other people see the glass as half empty, but in the end both want a championship more than anything.

Me for instance can't stand Nate, and think he is the most over rated coach in the NBA. Yet I want the team to win a title as much as someone who thinks he is one of the best coaches in the NBA.

I think if you've fantasized about the drunken revalry you will partake in once the blazers do win another 'ship, then you're a fan.

True fan: You must own a minimum of three Blazers jerseys.

Fortunately I own 4 that I can think of.

    Damon Stoudamire
    Rod Strickland
    Derek Anderson
    Stacey Augmon

I wish I had bought a Pippen jersey. I actually had a Kenny Anderson jersey until I traded it for Damon's.

I have a Jersey curse, everytime I get a jersey, they get traded or injured.

I have the same problem! Every time I get a jersey they become an insufferable asshole (IE Strickland, Damon, Anderson).
