Roy wasn't available (for all intents and purposes) to take advantage of that defensive shift.

You miss the point. He's talking about cohesion and not record. He doesn't care if we lose the final game, but wants to see progress. No need for the annoying emoticon.

Bayless' jumper looks a lot better, but that's the only thing I can say positive about him so far. He's cutting down on the bonehead turnovers, but hasn't really improved his passing or D. He also seems to attack the rim a lot less, which was one of his positive attributed IMHO. I had hopes he would take the jump this year, but he's looking like 3rd string PG.

No, I didn't miss the point. And I disagree about the emoticon. But thanks for your opinion.

That has nothing to really do with it though. The OP was saying the defensive shift was somehow an advantage to us. If anything everything got worse.

Short answer was: We were blown the fuck out.

To your point though, Roy played... Either you play or you don't. There are no excuses... Except for McDillon, in which there are thousands of them.

The good news is that the clock is ticking on him. You can feel it in the air. I'm that much closer to my $80

I don't think he was saying that it was an advantage to Portland. The point (as I'm assuming from that poster and I've made in another thread) is that Miller was effective enough to force the Suns to adapt their defense. It wasn't advantageous for Portland (obviously, or else the Suns wouldn't have done it) because Portland was essentially missing their best player.

Portland failed, yes...I don't think Miller did. Miller has never been expected to carry a team against a defense loaded against him, because (as much as I like him as a player) he's not good enough for that. I don't consider it a personal failure to not do something you aren't good enough to do and aren't expected to do.

That's certainly a valid opinion, but it's not one I share. I think if a player is too injured to be effective, it's the equivalent of his presence being absent from the offense. It can be debated whether Roy should have played at all, if he was that injured, but either way I don't feel the Blazers had their best offensive presence available in that series.
