"Jermaine O'Neal scored just two points in the Celtics' 103-92 loss to the 76ers last night. But he made his point. Making his second preseason appearance, O'Neal pulled down 12 rebounds in 19 minutes. The Celts were a plus-7 with him on the floor. "I'm putting this thing together like a puzzle, I guess," O'Neal said after shooting 1-for-6. "I'm still struggling offensively trying to get a rhythm, but you've got to keep building. You can't get too frustrated." Doc Rivers certainly isn't. "He's going to really be good for us defensively," the coach said after his club lost for the first time in four outings. "I'm not concerned with his offense. He understands his role, and he's doing a terrific job of it." The Celtics went with a starting lineup of O'Neal, Nate Robinson (26 points), Von Wafer, Glen Davis and Marquis Daniels. They held the lead most of the night, but, with the usual starters being held out, the Sixers came back and took over late. Top draft pick Avery Bradley made his Celtics debut after rehabbing his surgically repaired left ankle. He, too, made 1-of-6 shots, but looked good early." http://www.bostonherald.com/sports/...rt_jermaine_oneal_points_few_but_boards_help/
12 rebounds in 19 minutes is a good proof for his defensive ability. You should just not to expect too much from an aging guy. Just from this, i shoud say celtics' 1million is worthwhile
