Seven weeks in to the 2010 online sports betting season, and a lot has changed on the NCAAF landscape, particularly after an intense week six that changed the entire outlook of the standings. Among the most exciting headlines to keep an eye on are the shifts in the SEC, including a battle between a pair of top-ten teams in Auburn and Arkansas, as well as how Alabama will rebound. Auburn, LSU Climb To Top Of SEC After consecutive years of dominating the SEC, Florida and Alabama are both coming off big losses, and for the Gators its their second in a row, continuing their descent in the rankings. The Crimson Tide looked phenomenal throughout the first few weeks of the season, but after a loss to South Carolina State last Saturday have almost turned in to an afterthought with the BCS rankings coming out this week. Replacing them at the top of the conference at least for this week is Auburn and LSU, who both enter week seven of the college football betting season undefeated. Both Tigers’ teams have shown that they have improved big time over the offseason, and it will be interesting to see if they can both get to week eight undefeated, where they will kick off against one another. Alabama Needs To Rebound Quickly After their first loss since the 2009 Sugar Bowl, the pressure will be on new number-eight Alabama to rebound against Mississippi at home this week, and the fact that they are being held in such low esteem is ridiculous. The Crimson Tide finally faltered in the third of three straight match ups against ranked opponents, which shouldn’t be that unexpected given the strength of their football betting schedule. This Alabama team may very well be better than last year’s national championship team, and with running back Mark Ingram running hard the Crimson Tide will only rebound with an even more complete effort. Auburn and LSU are at the top of the SEC right now, but don’t forget about Alabama, who in time will be right back on top where they belong. Mallett Ranks As Best Quarterback In SEC The biggest reason for Arkansas’ solid start to the 2010 season is quarterback Ryan Mallett, who has taken the Razorbacks on his shoulders early this year. Arkansas could very well be undefeated right now if it weren’t for a late collapse by their defense in a loss to Alabama, and even still are right near the top of the conference with just one loss. Mallett has thrown for 1,748 yards and 13 touchdowns already, while leading the Razorbacks to the third-best pass ranking in the country. Arkansas still has three more ranked opponents on their schedule, including South Carolina State and LSU after Auburn, and that will give Mallett ample opportunity to prove that he is ready to become a top betting on NFL draft pick one day.
I am laughing at all this Mallett talk... HAHAHAHAHAHA I bet Dick Rod would love him at Michigan right about now.
