Based on several mock drafts that have been put out, the two players that came up most as Nets selections are Kyle Lowry out of Villanova and Aaron Gray from Pittsburg. Taj Gray came up twice as a second round pick by NJ. Two other players who have been projected as a Net pick on three mocks: Saer Sene, the 7-foot Senegalese center who wowed scouts at the Nike Hoop Summit; and point guard Jordan Farmar of UCLA, who worked out for the Nets recently. Another four were named twice: Sergio Rodriguez and Rudy Fernandez, both flashy guards from Spain, and two power forwards, Josh Boone, the defensive specialist from Connecticut, and Alexander Johnson from Florida State, another player who showed his stuff to the Nets brass.
Alexander Johnson Tops Mock Draft RoundupAlexander Johnson, the 6'-9" power forward with the 40" vertical leap, tops the latest NetsDaily Mock Draft Roundup. Johnson, who has already worked out for the Nets, is projected as their pick on five of 17 mocks, more than any other player. Three others, point guards Jordan Farmar of UCLA and Kyle Lowry of Villanova and Pittsburgh center Aaron Gray, are each named on three mocks, while international stars Rudy Fernandez and Saer Sene are named on two. The Nets have picks at #22, #23 and #54.
I really want Alexander Johnson. He's got a huge vertical leap and can block shots. On a team with RJ Carter Kidd and Krstic, another offensive weapon isn't really a necessity.
Lowry Again Seen as Most Likely Net Pick in Mock RoundupIf the authors of mock drafts have their way on June 28, Kyle Lowry will be a Net. No player has been as consistently slotted for New Jersey as Lowry. A new round of mocks confirms it. Of the 14 posted since the Orlando PreDraft Camp, the 6'-1" Villanova point shows up on seven of them. Alexander Johnson, the Florida State power foward, is next with five votes. Meanwhile, Rod Thorn says Hilton Armstrong is doing all the right things to get noticed on Draft Night.www.netsdaily.com
That's because mock drafts copy eachother and the Nets need a PG...same thing with the Warriors needing a center so everyone spots O'Bryant in there.
Nets need a big guy moreso than a PG..If I could chose this would be my dream draft:22nd-Alexander Johnson23rd-Kyle Lowry54th-Taj Gray
Oh not at all, he has been rumored to go for a while now. Im kind of dissapointed with how things have worked out with him because he never really got a chance to play..
