    I thought Religulous was pretty engaging entertainment, but it was more heat than light. I felt he spent too much time on wacky nutjobs and too little time with deeper pro-religious thinkers. I mean how much can you really learn from some nut who thinks he's Christ?

    The only profound parts that stuck with me were his conversation with his own mom about the roots of his own religious upbringing, and the ex-Mormons.

    Ex-mormons are a really fascinating story. I researched the issue some years ago for a project that never went anywhere, but the stories I read really stuck with me. Leaving the Mormon church in Utah is like leaving a cult that all your family and most of your friends/colleagues belongs to.
